[NO] EL18 changes color (again)
Only recently we brought the news that the railways of Norway (NSB) were repainting there EL18 locomotives in silver and red. But the locomotive shown it that item, EL18 2259 has re-appeared now in yet another livery. Its red fronts are now dark grey. On its sides it has pictures of a Norwegian forest.
Meanwhile, the EL18s are still in surplus. Some of them have been hired to other operators in the past years (such as CargoNet). Soon they will replace the old El 17 on Flåmsbana. Speculations tell us that this is the reason to implement yet another livery design on the EL 18. A livery that is more neutral and also matches with the green painted Flåmsbana trains. - ØB

[NO] New looks for El18s in Norway
Last year, we posted an item about the new livery options for the EL 18 electrics of the Norwegian national railways (NSB). Back then, two different options were considered. The locomotives were the become silver and red with either a landscapic picture on their sides, or with two 'sporty' red stripes. Locomotive El 18.2257 got two different sides after its upgrade to evaluate both options.
Now we bring you images of the El 18.2259, with red stripes on both sides. NSB is overhauling its locomotives and this is their new livery. - HK

[NO] NSB EL18 series restyled [updatex2]
[Update] The Norwegian state railways (NSB) will soon start upgrading their EL18 series electric locomotives. The upgrade includes a new standard livery. During the next months, two different versions will be tested. Locomotive no. EL18.2257, the first one that has been updated, was outshopped sporting the two different versions of the new livery on either side.
One is silver with two skew red stripes, the other side depicts a (Norwegian?) landscape at sunset. - ØB/FK
