 On 11.10.2011, the Havelländische Eisenbahn AG from Berlin acquired two TRAXX P160 DE locomotives; the designated 246 001 and 010, coming from the rolling stock pool of the LNVG (Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen mbH). Earlier in 2011, the LNVG announced that three of their eleven TRAXX DE locomotives were for sale. After several years of service, the LNVG concluded that eight locomotives is sufficient for their Hamburg-Cuxhaven relation. |

Since January, hvle locomotive 246 010-3 is used for metronom services. During the past night, metronom creatively covered the hvle logos on the locomotive by applying new stickers. From now on: 'Ich fahr für www.metronom.de'. - JM

hvle locomotive 246 010-3 has left its Berlin safe haven. After being seen at the evb workshops in Bremerhafen last week, the engine re-appeared on 04.01.2014 pushing a metronom double deck driving trailer.
[Updatex2] Since 05.01.2014, the locomotive is used for metronom services. 246 010 is stand-in, as not enough LNVG Traxx DE locomotives are available for service at this moment. - KAR/KB/JD/DSO/JM

 hvle 246 010-3 hauling a test train for Alstom. In between the white coaches you see a new generation Coradia-LINT train built by Alstom in Salzgitter. For various operators (this one is for DB Regio), Alstom will deliver new LINT54 and LINT81 trainsets. Biggest differences compared to the older generations are the longer car bodies without Jacobs-bogies and a reinforced front section. - HR

Recently, locomotive 246 001-2 has been sold to the Havellandische Eisenbahn AG (hvle). She was then transported to the DB-Instandhaltungswerk Cottbus. There she was equipped with a radio control system, developed by Bombardier and DB-Systemtechnik. It is the first Traxx locomotive with this equipment. Bombardier hopes to get the engine with the system approved in March 2012. - EMM 01/2012

In October 2011, the Havelländische Eisenbahn AG (hvle) bought locomotive 246 001-2 and 246 010-3 from Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen (LNVG). This nice report shows us that at least the 001 has been restyled completely in the mean time. Like the 185 583/640/641 is now has a silver base painting with orange details and logos. It's service number remained unchanged.
