During the Innotrans 2010 railway fair, the news came out that Metrans from the Czech Republic had ordered three EuroRunner diesel-electric locomotives. Metrans exploits container terminals and offers all-in intermodal services in Europe. All three units have the freight configuration, eg. extra large fuel tank to enable the locos to manage long distance hauls. They have the Mirel and Indusi detection systems aboard, as Metrans wants to homologate them for the Czech Republic and all its neighbouring countires, and Hungary and Slovenia.
The first Metrans unit was painted in blue and white in the first week of February 2011. The second and third unit were repainted in March. The first unit, 761 001-7, was delivered to Metrans in March 2011 and first seen behind a container shuttle on 12.03.2011.

[DE] EuroRunners in Neustrelitz [updated]
Three impressions from 28.01.2013, made in the Ausbesserungswerk in Neustrelitz, property of Netinera. Many nice oldtimers are maintained there, or get a complete overhaul. But also modern vehicles get their maintenance here. Three EuroRunners that were around. Metrans 761 007, still to be delivered to the Czech Republic. Metrans will pick this machine up on 05.02.2013.
SG 223 143 was also around for inspection, OHE 270082 is being recovered from collision damage. - SC/KAR

[CZ] Metrans orders EuroRunner no. 5, 6 and 7
In 2013, Siemens will deliver another three EuroRunners to Metrans, operator from the Czech Republic. The additional machines will predominantly be operated in Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia.
In the mean time, EuroRunner no.4 also still needs to be delivered. This is scheduled for the next weeks. Metrans is very satisfied with their Siemens machines. The three units, that are in service since 2011, have already completed a 500.000 km with their freight trains. - Siemens

[CZ] Metrans purchases a fourth EuroRunner
Metrans has decided to purchase another EuroRunner diesel-electric locomotive. Currently its fleet includes the 761 001, 002 and 003, that already have completed a 300.000 km in revenue service, in mainly Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. Because transport volume is rising, an extra locomotive is needed. - Siemens
BTW, also the fleet of electrics is growing (although all hired from Railpool): 186 182 and 240 were used throughout 2011, now this has changed into 186 181, 182, 183 and 187. 186 240 lost its Bombardier stickers and got Railpool and Rurtalbahn logos.

[EU] Metrans goes international
During the past week, Czech operator Metrans has executed several trial runs on foreign ground with their new EuroRunners. On 08.05.2011, Metrans 761 001 and 002 arrived with a container train at Dunajská Streda [SK]. From there they made a trip to Rajka [HU]. At Rajka they inspected by the Hungarian railway authority, completed trial runs at vmax between Hegyeshalom and Budapest and did a break distance test.
Metrans wants to deploy its EuroRunners between Praha-Uhřiněves and Dunajská Streda, beginning in June 2011. Secondly, it is possible that the 761s will also run to the terminals at Lípa nad Dřevnicí (nearby Zlín, CZ) and Budapest. Operations in Slovenia (Koper) and Austria are under consideration. On 04.05.2011, 761 002 made a test run to Lipa.
BTW: The third locomotive, 761 003, still awaits approval for the Czech Republic. Then it will go to Hungary too.
