In March 2008, Ferrovie Emilia Romagna (FER) from Bologna, Italy, ordered four Traxx DC units. During the summer of 2009, the first units were outshopped for trial runs. Around August 2009 all four units were delivered to FER, the designated 483 023-026. In June 2010, machines E 483.025 and 026 were sold to Sistemi Territoriali (ST), operator from Padova.

As of 2012, the railfreight activitities were brought together in a separate company with a new name: Dinazzano Po.
