Ordered in three stages, the FER operates ten Traxx P160 DCP single cab electrics, identical to the E464 series for Trenitalia. Like those, all the FER units are built at Bombardier's factory in Vado Ligure, Italy.
Batch 1 and 2 were delivered in 2004-2006 and have traditional coupling systems and buffers; Unit 890-893 from 2009 have automatic couplings and no buffers. All units are being used for passenger services in combination with double deck rakes.
All ten units were delivered in the attractive white, green and red livery of the FER. |
