Lokomotion 189

Lokomotion started trans-alp rail operation back in 2001. It is a joint-venture of DB Schenker Rail Deutschland AG (30%), RTC - Rail Traction Company SpA (30%), STR-Brenner Schienentransport AG (20%) and Kombiverkehr GmbH & Co KG (20%). In Italy Lokomotion operates under the license of RTC.

Per 01.12.2006, Lokomotion added five ES64 F4 series locomotives to its fleet, acquired from MRCE Dispolok, that before leased these engines to Lokomotion and its partner RTC. The five units, ES 64 F4-007, 012, 014, 017 and 018 initially kept their yellow and silver base livery.

On 24.11.2010, unit ES 64 F4-017 was seen in Kassel, where it was pushed inside the paint shops of Bombardier's (!) assembly factory. Around two weeks later the engine re-appeared, in the Lokomotion 'Zebra'-livery.
